We are deeply saddened by the death of our Patron, John Bush CVO OBE CStJ JP.

John became Patron of Wiltshire Community Foundation in 2004 and over the last twenty years he has played a pivotal role, advocating on behalf of disadvantaged communities, championing the local voluntary sector and inspiring more people to consider giving to local projects through our grants programmes.

John was a wonderful example of public service at its best, serving as the High Sheriff for Wiltshire in 1997/98, as Deputy Lord Lieutenant from 1998 and Lord Lieutenant from 2004 to 2012. 

He had a deep understanding of Wiltshire and Swindon and the needs of our local communities. John generously shared his skills, knowledge and time for the benefit of others and will be greatly missed by us all.
