NFU Mutual provides welcome support

We were delighted to have been nominated by staff at NFU Mutual in Marlborough to receive a £3,819 donation from the company’s Agency Giving Fund.

Senior Claim Adviser Samantha Edwards and Business Account Manager Jemma Clarke, who nominated us, say they put us forward because of the breadth of the causes we support.

Commenting on the donation Jemma Clarke said :“I’ve been aware of what the community foundation does for a while and when we were given the chance to support a charity I thought of them straight away. They help so many people, especially in rural areas.”

Our joint chief executive Fiona Oliver met the NFU Mutual team at their office in Hilliers Yard to receive the cheque and explained that the money will be divided between our Welcome Fund, which supports groups and charities helping refugees from Ukraine and all over the world, and the Poverty Hurts Fund, which was set up earlier this year for groups assisting families and individuals struggling with the cost of living crisis.

Fiona Oliver said: “We are very thankful to NFU Mutual and particularly the lovely staff in the Marlborough branch who nominated us. These two funds will make a huge difference to those who are trying to build a new life here in Wiltshire and also offer hope and support to families and individuals who are struggling to make ends meet.”

NFU Mutual’s national £1.92million Agency Giving Fund was set up three years ago to help frontline charities across the country. The fund forms part of NFU Mutual’ s £3.25m funding pledge for local and national charities in 2022 to help tackle the ongoing effects of the pandemic and assist with recovery.

John Hardman, an NFU Mutual agent at the Marlborough office, said: “We’re extremely proud to have nominated Wiltshire Community Foundation for this donation and are delighted to be able to support the vital contribution they make to our community.”
